It stands as the axis to the sun’s counted course, a point for the arc between ascent and decline, a celestial passage given form. A stem of brass descends, a gnomon’s loyal line, holding the bulb as a stationary star. This pendant is, too, drawn from the incised grammar of cuneiform, where a mark might keep a harvest or seal a king’s word, giving weight to ancient witness. Cast in four hand-crafted brass-and-marble combinations, dimensioned with the long view in mind.
